PERILS has today disclosed its initial industry loss estimate for the bushfires which affected the state of Victoria in southeastern Australia from 7 to 13 January 2026.

PERILS has today released its Q1 update of the PERILS EXTENDED industry loss database. PERILS EXTENDED replaces the former CRESTA CLIX database. It is complementary to PERILS CORE and includes country-level loss data for territories not covered by PERILS CORE.
PERILS is an organisation carried by the insurance industry aimed at improving the availability of catastrophe insurance market data. PERILS' industry data are based on information exclusively received from insurance companies writing business in the territories covered by PERILS.
